Workshops within the Visegrad fund project "You(TH) Decide"

Restoring youth's trust in politics and empowering active citizen participation and interest of young people in public affairs is the aim of the Visegrad fund supported project "You(TH) Decide". The project is organised by a Slovak NGO Youthfully Yours and EYCB as its Czech partner is responsible for organising local workshops in the Czech Republic. 2018 Overview

In 2019 we wish you health, success, luck and lots of unforgettable moments (not only) with the Erasmus+ programme!

Thank you very much for your support and cooperation, it is only thanks to you that we can help create society where youth has enough opportunities to develop their skills, people are interested in what happens around them and help each other. Thank you!



In 2018 we sent 329 young people to 87 short-term projects abroad in 30 countries. For the first time, we sent a group to a project that took place in two countries during its project week. During the project, participants travelled from Osterholz-Scharmbeck in Germany to Brusselles in Belgium and back to Bremen in Germany. We also sent our 1400th participant to a project abroad and the first participant supported by our Grant programme for economically disadvantaged youth.

We were succesful also in European Voluntary Service (EVS) sending 7 volunteers to 6 EVS projects in 6 countries.

We also continued implementing workshops about the Erasmus+: Youth programme, this year at SŠTE Olomoucká in Brno, Masaryks Business College in Rakovník and high school in Český Krumlov. We also organised 3 meetings with ex-EVS volunteers: at Břeclav Grammar SchoolBřeclav Business College and Velké Pavlovice Grammar School.

We presented possibilities of international volunteering (European Voluntary Service) during the Creativity Afternoon with Brontosaurus, aktivity organised in Břeclav by Ardea – základní článek Hnutí Brontosaurus.

At Břeclav Grammar School we organised also a workshop about European Union as a part of civic education.

In June 2018 we opened a new InfoPoint for youth in Břeclav Public Library where we provide information about Erasmus+ projects, volunteering opportunities, EU and advise how to write a good CV and cover letter.

In order to help young unemployed people, we have been promoting Erasmus+ projects at Job Offices in Břeclav, Hustopeče and since 2018 also in Mikulov.

Within support of volunteering we also participated in a local activity "Clean Up Břeclav".

For the third time, we celebrated with you Giving Tuesday - the international day of giving. This time you could help with us economically disadvantaged youth to participate in Erasmus+: Youth projects, support our activities or share with us your experience with fundraising.

We participated in a campaign Thank you, Europe! organised by Europe Direct Czech Republic that presents stories of people who derive benefits from membership in European Union.

Join us in celebrating Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is the biggest festival of giving and volunteering celebrated around the whole world every year after the Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. This time, it will be on Tuesday 27th November. For the third year in the Czech Republic we prepared 3 campaigns that you can support:

  1. Enable economically disadvantaged youth participate in educational projects abroad - Please, support the EYCB fund for economically disadvantaged youth by sending money to our bank account (please find details hereunder) using a variable symbol 150307. From received money, we will finance travel tickets of young people coming from poorer families to a project, their travel insurance, eventually passport or pocket money.

  2. Support activities of EYCB - EYCB has been for more than 11 years sending young people to abroad international educational projects, organising international youth exchanges and training courses in the Czech Republic, organising workshops and presentations at high schools, informing youth about opportunities provided by the EU... However, in order to continue, we need a financial support from you. Please send us any amount to our bank account (please find the details hereunder).

An article by our board member Jakub Miklín dedicated to non-formal education and migration topic was published in the 'Migration: Interdisciplinary Challenge in Learning' journal published by Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. Our ERASMUS+ training course "ACT - Active Citizens of Today!" was approved!

The Czech National Agency (Dům zahraniční spolupráce) approved the ERASMUS+ mobility of youth workers "ACT - Active Citizens of Today!" that EYCB applied for together with Estonian NGO ''MTÜ Noored Ühiskonna Heaks". The training's main aim is to support the professional development of young trainers and to raise the quality of their projects concerning (European) citizenship. It will be implemented in Lednice, Czech Republc, from 20th to 28tth March 2019. You will find more about the TC here.

Visit our new Youth InfoPoint!

On Thursday 10th May, EYCB opened a new Youth InfoPoint in Břeclav Public Library. Youth InfoPoint provides young people and youth workers information and consultations about educational projects within the frame of Erasmus+: Youth programme, European Union, international as well as local volunteering opportunities and activities for youth organised in Břeclav.

Youth InfoPoint is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 3 pm to 6 pm.

2017 overview

How did we fare in 2017?

We sent 316 young people to 85 projects abroad in 24 countries. We also sent our 1300th participant to a project abroad.

We were succesful also in European Voluntary Service (EVS) sending 7 volunteers to 7 EVS projects in 5 countries. This year young people sent by us volunteered for the first time in Italy, Bulgaria and Latvia.

We also continued implementing workshops about the Erasmus+: Youth programme, this year at Gymnázium a SOŠE a SOU Kaplice, Biskupské gymnázium in České Budějovice, Moravské gymnázium in České Budějovice and Business College Břeclav. We also presented the EYCB Grant programme supporting participation of economically disadvantaged youth in Erasmus+:Youth projects to scholars of Scholarship fund for Roma high school- and university students.

Within support of volunteering we also participated in a local activity "Clean Up Břeclav".

In Brno Expedition club, we organised a meeting celebrating 10 years of EYCB. You could however meet us also in other places, e.g. in Ostrava.

We also participated in initiative Giving Tuesday - the international day of giving and volunteering. You could help with us economically disadvantaged youth to participate in Erasmus+:Youth projects.

Our project coordinator Jana Parolková was nominated for "Křesadlo in South Moravian Region" - a price for active volunteers. Unfortunately, Jana did not won her category. Anyway, we thank all of you who voted for her.

Jana has been volunteering for EYCB for 9 years and is the most active member. As a project coordinator she sent already more then 1250 youths to 500+ (Erasmus+): Youth in Action projects in 40 countries. She also initiated a special grant programme financially supporting in participation in those projects youth that faces economic and/or social obstacles. For the same purpose, Jana started a cooperation with children's homes and organisations working with young Roma people. Jana also organised her own TC aimed at effective ways of helping handicapped people and supporting their integration into society.

During her studies at Oxford University, Jana held the voluntary position of the Social Secretary of the Kellogg College and was helping handicapped students as their assistent. Currently, she has been volunteering also as a mentor for the 'Yoda Mentorship' programme supporting active and talented high-school students.

Join our 10th birthday celebration!

This year we celebrate 10 years since EYCB was established! Since than we sent 1,200 young people to 500 abroad short-term (Erasmus+) Youth in Action projects, 15 volunteers to European Voluntary Service, organised 9 (Erasmus+) Youth in Action projects in the Czech Republic, realized a number of presentations and information workshops on high schools, universities and NGO fairs, actively participated in several volunteering activities.

We are very happy and proud about that and want to thank you for all your support. Therefore, we kindly invite you to a celebration of the 10th birthday of EYCB that will take place on Saturday 24 June from 5 pm at Expedition club Brno (Jezuitská 6/1, Brno 602 00). You can look forward to:

At Baruvas, a meeting of Roma scholars in Brno, we presented the Erasmus+ programme and our programme supporting economicaly disadvantaged youth. You can read more here.
